I have been involved in Crafts since 1984 when I started producing souvenirs in Maltese stone for the tourist market which helped me financially during my studies and gave me the satisfaction of indipendence. In 1985 I got employed in a local bank, however I continued and expanded my client base and product range. I established Artistorika in 1987 a product line still existing today producing and distributing replicas of Neolithic artifacts, gifts. house ornaments and hundreds of other related items. To do this I had to employ two part time workers which eventually became six. In 1994 I opened the Empire Arts And Crafts Centre in Rabat a state of the Art Centre where we produced and sold local Crafts, an innovative concept which was a great success. In 2006 I took over Heritage Homes Ltd. an established company renowned for its miniature buildings of Malta, a range I also continued to expand.
In the meantime ,our work force has increased to 21 full time and part-time employees and 15 Prison Inmates, our wholesale includes the distrbution in more than 200 local shops and several clients in Italy. During these years I won several Awards including the Premju Gieh l Artigianat 2010( the first edition) ,WIPO Award for Creativity 2010 ( also the first Edition), Award For Inclusivity and Integration in Crafts 2013. Award for Sustainability In Enterprise 2017 and Employer of the Year 2018.
I am now cunstructing a Creativity Centre in the Artisan Village built on 1700 sqm which will include 8 workshops,Art gallery, educational facilities and much more. The centre should be ready by 2021 and will employ 45 persons
