Bio

Maria Theresa Portelli loved art and crafts since she was young and heartily enjoyed art classes and creating crafts at school. As she grew up, she continued to develop her skills through various courses that she attended including calligraphy, mosaic art, parchment craft, pottery classes, acrylic, gouache and watercolour classes, textured art, fused glass, painting on glass, felt creations and card-making. Such courses were indipensable in continuing to explore and discover her creativity. This passion for art and crafts, which also has a therapeutic effect on herself, enticed her to launch The Crafts Room – by mtp in 2024, offering a variety of workshops for kids & adults and encouraging others in exploring their creativity as they unwind and find rest from the everyday busyness. Maria Theresa is a journalist by profession and works with a voluntary organisation. She also worked in journalism and public relations for a good number of years.
