Bio

Banda Żejtun Għaqda Santa Katarina V.M. AD 1933 is a voluntary cultural organisation committed to preserving, restoring, and promoting Malta\'s traditional festa craftsmanship. Since its establishment in 1933, the Society has safeguarded a significant collection of handcrafted artistic works, including banners, statues, decorative structures, lighting, silverware, textiles, and other heritage artefacts associated with the Feast of Saint Catherine in Żejtun. The organisation actively supports the creation, conservation, and restoration of traditional works by collaborating with local artisans and encouraging the transmission of specialist skills to younger generations. Through exhibitions, educational initiatives, publications, and community projects, the Society promotes appreciation of Maltese artisanal traditions and contributes to the safeguarding of the island\'s tangible and intangible cultural heritage. Its commitment ensures that traditional craftsmanship remains a living practice and an integral part of Malta\'s cultural identity.
